This is book one of a series, but one I won't be continuing. It's not that it was a bad book, or a bad beginning, but when reading starts to feel more like a chore than a pleasure? It's not going to hold me.I tried to pin it down to one thing but there isn't. The story is good, and the mythology is intriguing. Maybe it was the long, drawn out part with Greg, or the way time jumped to the end of the summer so fast. Or maybe I'm just too jaded over the "I can't decide what cool thing I want her to be...so I'll make her both" Sue-ism that had me not that drawn in. Whatever it was, it wasn't for me. I finished the first, but I'll leave the series there.
